Talent International is currently recruiting for an EL1 Actuary to work for one of our Federal Government clients based in any office locations in NSW. The position is a 12-month contract role with the possibility of extension. The role pays $800 to $900 per day + Super.

7.5 hours per day and 38 hours per week

About the Role

As an EL1 Actuary, you will play a key leadership role within the Actuarial Insights and Monitoring function. You will be responsible for delivering complex actuarial and statistical analysis, providing evidence-based advice, and supporting key business and policy outcomes.

You will exercise a high degree of independence, lead analytical projects, manage stakeholder relationships, and contribute to the ongoing success and sustainability of the Scheme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert statistical and actuarial advice to support business and policy outcomes.
  • Lead reporting, analysis, and data management activities, including performance monitoring.
  • Design and develop actuarial, statistical, and mathematical models to address complex business challenges.
  • Conduct actuarial monitoring, scheme analysis, cost-benefit assessments, and forecasting activities.
  • Produce and present analytical reports and insights for a range of stakeholders.
  • Undertake ad hoc modelling and analytical requests as required.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives and continuous improvement activities.

Essential Experience

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate experience in:

  • Designing actuarial, statistical, and mathematical models to support business decision-making.
  • Delivering actuarial monitoring, analysis, data tabulations, scheme projects, and cost-benefit analyses.
  • Presenting complex analytical findings through both written reports and verbal presentations.
  • Identifying business problems and opportunities through the analysis and interpretation of quantitative and qualitative data.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience coaching, mentoring, or developing team members through structured development plans and performance improvement initiatives.
