Our client is a community focused Federal Government Agency. They have an exciting opportunity available for a EL1 Digital Test Lead to join the Office of the CIO in ensuring fit-for-need ICT-based solutions to improve the Agency.

About the role
We are seeking a passionate, experienced Digital Test Lead to join the Office of the CIO (OCIO). The Digital Test Lead will lead and conduct testing activities across one or more concurrent ICT digital projects. Working closely with the QA & Test Management Director and Digital Delivery Director, to ensure OCIO test strategy and standards are in place.

  • Lead efforts to maintain and improve the overall quality of the Digital portfolio.
  • Establish a well-structured testing strategy, including comprehensive test planning and execution.
  • Facilitate effective communication and coordination between various teams involved in the project, including, test teams in other portfolios, development, quality assurance, and project management. Clear communication channels will streamline testing efforts and foster collaboration.
  • Own, co-ordinate and maintain the plan for the portfolio’s environment requirements in consultation with the environments team across a complex environment landscape.
  • Spearhead strategic test automation initiatives, identifying opportunities for effective automation to accelerate testing cycles and improve efficiency.
  • Ensure that testing processes are aligned with regulatory compliance requirements and that security testing is a fundamental component of our quality assurance strategy.
  • Establish scalable testing processes and mentor team members to adapt to changing project dynamics.
  • Manage test delivery with vendors and internal staff to ensure that across projects the delivery remains within scope, schedule, cost, and quality targets as defined with project teams.
  • Manages test approach for given projects, incorporating various types of testing including Penetration, Performance and Accessibility testing as appropriate.
  • Analyses and reports on test activities and results, and escalating issues and risks to project management.
  • Assigns execution test cases at various stages of testing.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure effective and timely implementation of projects.
  • Manages Defect Triages and meetings.
  • Coordinates with business teams and supports them during UAT.

To be consider for this role you will need the following:
Essential criteria

  • Experience leading digital testing activities for complex programs and creating Test Summary reports.
  • Agile testing experience with team member accountability to commitment and delivery each sprint.
  • Extensive experience using test management tools including WAVE, JAWS, Zoom Text, Jira Xray and CRM, specifically Salesforce.
  • Analytical skills and problem-solving skills are needed to manage multiple factors on a project simultaneously.
  • Strong teamwork skills across business, vendors and geographically dispersed virtual teams.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Accessibility & WCAG 2.1 guidelines and what this means for the User Experience (UX).

Desirable criteria

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Demonstrated experience working for large organisations on complex software deployments.
  • Other relevant experience in a related technical field (application development, Database, development, deployment/implementation, and infrastructure).
  • Comfortable with new ways of thinking about accessibility and enthusiastic about accessible design & development will be highly regarded.

Please note that successful applicants will need to provide proof of Australian Citizenship. This contract will be within a hybrid environment, with 2 days working from home, and expected 37.5-hour weeks. This will be an initial 12 months with a further 12-month extension available. Day rates on offer open to market rates, to be based out of our clients Richmond or Geelong offices.
