Deputy Engineering Manager – Protected-Environment Capability Integration

About the Position:

Some engineering roles focus on individual systems. This one sits at the point where multiple systems, stakeholders and operational environments must come together successfully.

Working within a major protected environment capability program, you will support the Engineering Manager in overseeing engineering activities across the full lifecycle, from requirements and integration through to verification, validation, testing and delivery. The environment combines technical complexity with governance, compliance and stakeholder management across classified environments.

A key focus of the role is ensuring capability can be integrated safely and effectively across multiple operational environments while maintaining technical integrity, certification requirements and program objectives.

You will work closely with end client stakeholders, engineering teams and industry partners to manage interfaces, resolve technical issues and support delivery outcomes throughout the program lifecycle.

This role offers genuine influence for someone who enjoys systems thinking, engineering governance and solving integration challenges within a highly structured environment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support the delivery and assurance of engineering activities across the full project lifecycle.
  • Oversee systems engineering functions including requirements management, integration, interface control and verification & validation activities.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders and industry partners to resolve technical issues and align engineering outcomes.
  • Support testing, certification, governance and capability integration activities to ensure successful delivery.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Experience operating within engineering environments, ideally across Land and Maritime programs.
  • Strong systems engineering background with exposure to integration, requirements management, verification and validation activities.
  • Ability to engage effectively with key stakeholders, industry partners and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
