Data Governance Analyst

We are seeking a Data Governance Analyst to support the delivery and improvement of enterprise data governance practices. This role will work closely with data and project teams to ensure data quality, compliance, and governance standards are embedded across systems and projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct data profiling, classification, lineage mapping, and data quality assessments
  • Manage data quality issues including logging, triage, and remediation tracking
  • Identify and catalogue data assets in line with security and regulatory requirements
  • Develop and maintain data governance standards, procedures, and documentation
  • Support implementation and configuration of data governance tools (Alation, Microsoft Purview)
  • Monitor governance metrics and identify process or control improvements

Key Skills & Experience

  • Experience in data governance, data management, or similar roles
  • Hands-on experience with Alation and/or Microsoft Purview
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK, VPDSS)
  • Knowledge of data protection and compliance frameworks such as NIST, PDP, Public Records Act, SOCI
  • Understanding of data modelling, data architecture, and data quality management principles
  • SQL or data querying experience (desirable)
