Rate: upto $145,000 to $155,000 + super package ($173.600 inc super p.a)

Talent is currently seeking a Data Engineer to join a leading mining technology organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Data Engineer who enjoys building scalable data solutions, working with modern cloud technologies and turning complex datasets into meaningful business insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement new data models, metrics and analytics solutions
  • Develop, optimise and maintain scalable data pipelines
  • Support the design of cloud-based data warehouses and analytics platforms
  • Gather and prepare data from multiple sources, ensuring quality, consistency and reliability
  • Analyse large datasets to identify trends, patterns and anomalies
  • Develop predictive models to support equipment maintenance and operational efficiency
  • Create dashboards, visualisations and reports for technical and business stakeholders
  • Work with engineers, mining specialists and technology partners to improve equipment performance
  • Contribute to DevOps processes, deployment practices and environment setup
  • Support the development of automated decision-support tools

About You

You will ideally have:

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in a Data Engineering position
  • Advanced SQL skills
  • Experience designing and building high-performance data pipelines
  • Strong knowledge of modern data warehousing platforms such as Snowflake
  • Experience working in a cloud environment, ideally AWS
  • Hands-on experience with data modelling, ETL or ELT processes
  • Programming experience with Python, Java, Scala, R or similar technologies
  • Strong data cleansing, preparation and analysis capabilities
  • The ability to communicate technical findings clearly to business stakeholders

Experience with any of the following will be highly regarded:

  • Snowflake
  • Apache Airflow
  • AWS services including S3 and EC2
  • DevOps and CI/CD practices
  • Machine learning and statistical modelling
  • Power BI, Tableau or Looker
  • Predictive analytics
  • Mining, engineering, heavy equipment or industrial technology environments
