Cybersecurity Project Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex cybersecurity projects at a leading higher education provider.

In this key role, you will be responsible for driving the execution of crucial security initiatives, reducing risks, ensuring compliance, and enhancing Cybersecurity infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and deliver cybersecurity projects from start to finish, including compliance and security enhancements such as certificate authorisation (CA) for intranet apps, API hardening, and risk uplift initiatives.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure the project scope achieves the objectives of mitigating cybersecurity risks and uplifts the organisation’s NIST maturity.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and external vendors to ensure projects meet milestones, on time and within budget.
  • Identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, facilitating effective resolution.
  • Communicate project updates to senior leadership and stakeholders through clear, concise reports and presentations.
  • Champion governance, quality assurance, and change management practices.

Skills and experience:

  • Proven experience in delivering cybersecurity or infrastructure projects with a security scope.
  • Hands-on experience leading cybersecurity projects.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts, technologies, and industry standards.
  • Expertise in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Confluence).
  • Vendor management experience.
