Our Client

Our Federal Government client is Australia’s principle revenue collection agency, primarily responsible for administering the federal taxation system and superannuation legislation, as well as managing and delivering a range of Australian government payment and loan schemes.

The Role

This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping and strengthening cyber security capability within a large, complex government environment. You will contribute to the development and execution of a Cyber Security Strategy, Roadmap, and Capability Model – ensuring security initiatives are aligned to enterprise priorities while proactively addressing emerging threats.

Your duties will include:

  • Contributing to the development and enhancement of the Cyber Security Strategy and Roadmap
  • Supporting the design and implementation of a Cyber Security Capability Model
  • Providing strategic cyber security advice across programs and enterprise initiatives
  • Identifying capability gaps and recommending uplift activities aligned to best practice frameworks
  • Engaging with stakeholders to ensure alignment between cyber strategy and broader organisational objectives
  • Supporting participation in whole-of-government cyber security initiatives and uplift programs

Skills and Experience we are looking for:

  • Strong understanding of government security frameworks including ISM, PSPF, Essential Eight, ISO 27001 and/or NIST
  • Experience in cyber strategy development, enterprise architecture, or capability design
  • Ability to translate technical risk concepts into clear, executive-ready advice
  • Demonstrated experience working within large, complex ICT environments
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence and build consensus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of governance-level documentation
