The Role

An opportunity exists for an experienced Cyber Engineer to support the introduction into service of cutting-edge capabilities. Working closely with engineering teams and key stakeholders, you will provide specialist cyber engineering expertise to support certification, assurance and secure system delivery across high-profile acquisition programs.

Your duties will include:

  • Support cyber engineering activities for acquisition programs from design through to introduction into service.
  • Develop and review cyber certification and testing plans, ensuring compliance with requirements.
  • Compile and coordinate verification evidence to support cyber certification activities.
  • Represent the Commonwealth in technical working groups, design reviews and engineering governance forums.
  • Engage with contractors and stakeholders to deliver secure, high-quality outcomes and value for money.

Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Cyber Security, Information Technology or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience supporting cyber engineering, system assurance or cyber certification activities within complex environments.
  • Strong knowledge of network security, system hardening and secure software development practices.
  • Experience with cryptography, key management, incident detection and cyber response.
  • Familiarity with government cyber frameworks and standards such as NIST 800-53, STIGs or equivalent.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and influence engineering and project teams.
