Cyber Security Engineer - Vulnerability Management

A well-known Australian enterprise organisation is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer with strong vulnerability management skills to join their team on an initial twelve-month engagement.

Joining a high-profile cyber security program which will focus on the use of AI technologies within cyber, the successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and prioritising vulnerabilities across cloud, infrastructure, endpoint and application environments. Working within a collaborative security team, you will drive exposure management activities, support vulnerability remediation efforts, and help strengthen the organisation’s overall security posture.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant industry certifications
  • Proven cyber security engineering experience gained within large, complex environments
  • Demonstrated vulnerability management experience including vulnerability scanning and prioritisation frameworks including EPSS, CVSS, and KEV
  • Strong understanding of cloud, infrastructure, endpoint, and application security, with the ability to assess real-world exploitability and risk
  • Experience coordinating remediation activities and working closely with technology teams to reduce security exposure
  • Exposure to threat hunting, vulnerability response, detection engineering, or incident response activities
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Python scripting skills
