Our Client
Our Federal Government client is Australia’s principle revenue collection agency, primarily responsible for administering the federal taxation system and superannuation legislation, as well as managing and delivering a range of Australian government payment and loan schemes.
The Role
Provide Cyber Architectural expertise and drive technology and policy change to strengthen our clients enterprise and public facing systems in alignment with Australian Cyber frameworks. Drive modernisation of our key systems and focus on resilience where it improves reliability and the client experience
Your duties will include
- Develop, review, and implement secure architectures across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
- Apply security frameworks and standards, including ISO 27001, ISM, PSPF, and the Essential Eight, to ensure compliance and best practice.
- Design and maintain secure cloud environments (AWS, Azure, M365) with a focus on identity and access management, encryption, secure networking, and workload protection.
- Implement and manage security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, DLP, and zero trust architectures.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop effective risk management strategies.
- Contribute to the development of strategic and solution architectures aligned with organisational goals.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment, maintaining focus and adaptability amid changing demands.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across teams and stakeholders to drive successful outcomes.
Skills and experience required:
- Strong understanding of key security frameworks such as ISO 27001, ISM, PSPF, and Essential Eight.
- Proven experience securing cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, M365) and applying enterprise-level security controls.
- Demonstrated knowledge of risk management, solution architecture, and secure system design.
- Excellent leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities, with experience working effectively in fast-paced, changing environments.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to build effective partnerships and influence positive security outcomes.
