
Cyber Security Architect
- 12 months + 12 month extension
- You can be based in Canberra, Brisbane or Sydney
- Minimum Baseline security clearance.
- Extensive knowledge of cyber security best practices, Australian Government security standards (ISM and PSPF), and proven experience in security architecture and risk management.
As a Cyber Security Architect, you will play a critical role in safeguarding vital health systems across Australia. You will be responsible for providing strategic security advice and driving the development of secure architecture to protect the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive digital health information. Your expertise will not only help improve digital service delivery but also ensure equitable access to health resources.
Your duties will include:
- Delivering expert security advice during the design, build, and testing phases of corporate and digital health systems.
- Leading security architecture projects to ensure timely completion and quality outcomes.
- Defining and maintaining security standards and patterns for the Agency’s systems and services.
- Conducting security assessments, including IRAP assessments and Threat and Risk Assessments.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to drive outcomes amidst competing priorities and deadlines.
- Preparing and presenting guidance, briefing papers, and reports for stakeholders at various levels.
- Regularly updating and maintaining technical security documentation and operating procedures.
Skills and Experience we are looking for:
- Tertiary qualifications in ICT security or management, or equivalent professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, SSCP, CISA).
- Proven expertise in applying cyber security best practices and government security frameworks (ISM and PSPF).
- Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities to guide team members effectively.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, adaptable to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex issues while implementing innovative security solutions.
- Experience in contributing to compliance activities and security testing efforts.
- A collaborative approach to working within diverse teams to achieve strategic objectives.
