Our Client
Our client is a department of the Australian Government with a singular purpose to support the wellbeing if all who have served in the defence of the nation. As such, they are responsible for providing health care, rehabilitation, counselling, mental health and financial support services to serving ADF members, veterans and their families, as well as delivering programs across commemoration and recognition, housing and home care support and supporting the return to civilian life.
About the Role
This position plays a pivotal part in strengthening cyber security across critical government systems. You’ll provide strategic and technical security advice, guide risk management activities, and support system authorisation activities that ensure secure, compliant and resilient ICT environments.
Your duties will include:
- Providing expert cyber security advice focused on certification, risk, compliance and reporting
- Guiding strategic security approaches to manage identified risks
- Identifying areas of security risk and advising on additional technical requirements
- Leading the development of high-quality security documentation, including Risk Assessments and System Security Plans
- Offering technical leadership on security controls across complex ICT environments
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including agencies and service providers
Skills and Experience we are looking for:
- Proven experience in information security, risk assessments and compliance
- Strong knowledge of ISM, PSPF, Essential 8 and related security frameworks
- Background operating within complex ICT environments with multiple service providers
- Cloud security exposure within government or enterprise environments
- Ability to lead and produce high-quality security artefacts for system authorisation
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
