CRM Technical Specialist
We are seeking an experienced CRM Technical Specialist to lead a critical Microsoft Dynamics upgrade project within a large, complex healthcare environment.
This is a specialised, hands-on technical contract role focused on upgrading legacy Microsoft Dynamics CRM environments to Dynamics 365 V9.0 (on-premises), while contributing to longer-term platform strategy discussions including potential cloud transition.
This engagement sits within a high-performing ICT projects division delivering enterprise-scale technology initiatives.
About the Project
An enterprise-wide Microsoft Dynamics application is approaching end-of-life support. This project will deliver a technical and software upgrade to a supported on-premises version to ensure:
- Continued application stability and security
- Ongoing vendor support compliance
- Preservation of existing clinical/business functionality
- Strategic insight to inform future CRM platform decisions
Key Responsibilities
- Lead migration of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2016 (IFD) to Dynamics 365 V9.0 on-prem
- Plan and execute upgrade of CRM 2015 (internal deployment) to V9.0
- Conduct detailed analysis of customisations, plugins, workflows and integrations
- Develop and execute migration strategies with minimal business disruption
- Perform pre-migration assessments, data validation and post-migration testing
- Assess compatibility of integrated ASP.NET applications
- Install, configure and deploy Dynamics CRM/365 environments
- Design and implement CRM customisations (entities, forms, workflows, plugins)
- Troubleshoot and provide production support
- Work collaboratively with infrastructure and ICT operations teams
- Implement security models and role-based access controls
- Document current-state architecture and contribute to future CRM roadmap
- Provide technical comparison assessments and support proof-of-concept initiatives
This role works closely with a dedicated infrastructure team (server builds, networking, AD, SSL handled internally). We are seeking a strong CRM technical specialist who can collaborate effectively and communicate infrastructure requirements clearly.
Mandatory Experience & Skills
- 5+ years hands-on Microsoft Dynamics CRM (2013-2016 & D365)
- Proven on-prem installations, upgrades and migrations
- Critical: Strong Internet Facing Deployment (IFD) experience
- Claims-based authentication expertise
- ADFS integration & external user authentication experience
- Experience across internal & external-facing CRM deployments
- Strong knowledge of Dynamics 365 V9.0+ architecture & Unified Interface
- CRM customisation expertise (forms, views, entities, workflows, business rules, JavaScript)
- Plugin development using C# and CRM SDK
- Experience with CRM SDK, Web API and integration patterns
- Power Platform exposure (Power Apps, Power Automate)
- Understanding of CRM integrations (database & API-based)
- Working knowledge of SQL Server
- Understanding of Windows Server, IIS and Active Directory concepts
