Contract Manager - Defence Supply Chain

Our client is seeking an experienced Contract Manager to manage critical Defence Maritime supply chain contracts, ensuring contractual compliance, value for money and delivery against Defence objectives. This role requires regular interaction with Defence systems and stakeholders and therefore an active Baseline Security Clearance is essential.

The Contract Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end management of existing category contracts, supporting operational delivery while ensuring adherence to Defence procurement frameworks and contractual obligations.

Key responsibilities
* Manage and oversee existing category contracts within the Defence Maritime environment
* Lead supplier and Commonwealth stakeholder engagement, ensuring communications align with Defence expectations and governance
* Monitor, review and report on contract performance metrics in line with Defence frameworks
* Prepare, assess and process Contract Change Proposals for price adjustments, variations and obsolescence management
* Manage historical initial orders, resolve outstanding contractual issues and support contract remediation activities
* Conduct contract compliance reviews to ensure adherence to Defence contractual, financial and governance obligations
* Provide expert advice on Defence contract governance, risk management and compliance
* Support continuous improvement initiatives across Defence category contract management

Essential requirements
* Advanced supply chain knowledge and demonstrated contract management experience
* Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Law, Finance, Supply Chain Management or a related discipline
* Strong understanding of Defence Procurement Policy and Commonwealth contracting principles
* Demonstrated experience developing, managing and maintaining category contracts
* Defence experience preferred
* Experience using SAP ERP Contract Management and Purchasing modules
* Australian Citizenship is mandatory
* An active Baseline Security Clearance is essential for this role
* Candidates without Australian Citizenship and an active Baseline Security Clearance will not be considered
