Join our versatile software team as a Configuration Engineer (Embedded Systems) with a Global Energy organization based in the Eastern Metropolitan Perth area. This exciting opportunity offers a six-month contract with extensions or the possibility of transitioning into a full-time position.

As a Configuration Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing a world-first product for the rail industry. You’ll collaborate closely with Product and Quality teams to establish and administer the configuration management process for our Heavy Haul Rail products. Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining a configuration management system and processes tailored for a variety of systems and sub-systems, with a primary focus on embedded systems hardware and software.

Key Duties:

  • Collaborate with the Product and Quality teams to establish and administer the configuration management process for Heavy Haul Rail products.
  • Develop and maintain a configuration management system and processes suitable for various systems and sub-systems, emphasizing embedded systems hardware and software.
  • Review and manage pull requests, merge processes, and ensure code quality and consistency.
  • Coordinate the release of hardware and software updates to assets.
  • Manage and coordinate the distribution of binary, configuration, and test artifacts from the CI/CD system.

Skills Required:

  • Experience in software development, particularly in embedded systems.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively within a versatile software team.
  • Proficiency in establishing and administering configuration management processes.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD systems and managing software releases.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to ensuring code quality and consistency.
