Job Summary / Overview
Our client is delivering a large-scale 220kV transmission and renewable energy network. The Commissioning Lead will oversee commissioning of substations, BESS, and solar facilities, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead commissioning engineers and electricians in daily activities
  • Complete testing and commissioning of electrical equipment
  • Resolve technical and commissioning issues
  • Liaise with vendors to align on requirements and expectations
  • Manage commissioning documentation, processes, and procedures
  • Prepare and update execution and progress reports
  • Support project delivery and operational handover
  • Ensure H&S compliance during commissioning
  • Plan and manage all commissioning activities and teams
  • Support development of ITRs, CTPs, and FTPs

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience commissioning electrical equipment within utilities or mining
  • Cert IV in Electrical – Instrumentation
  • Experience in secondary injection testing (Siemens and SEL relays)
  • Proficiency with Omicron test equipment
  • Knowledge of IEC61850 schemes
  • Experience with primary electrical testing (breakers, CTs, VTs, transformers, switchboards)
  • Proven leadership in commissioning teams
  • Bachelor’s or Advanced Diploma in Engineering and/or Electrical Trade
  • Frontline Leadership and Management training
  • Project Management experience
