Our Client

Our Federal Government client is Australia’s principle revenue collection agency, primarily responsible for administering the federal taxation system and superannuation legislation, as well as managing and delivering a range of Australian government payment and loan schemes.

The Role

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Platform Engineer to help deliver and evolve a large-scale Enterprise AI Platform that enables the secure, scalable, and responsible adoption of artificial intelligence across a major Federal Government environment.

Your duties will include:

  • Design, build and maintain cloud platform services, automation, and integration capabilities.
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment patterns to support reliable platform delivery.
  • Implement cloud security controls, policy-as-code, monitoring, and governance to ensure secure and compliant platform operations.
  • Build reusable platform components and self-service capabilities that improve developer productivity and accelerate delivery.
  • Troubleshoot complex platform issues while contributing to engineering standards, platform roadmaps, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience engineering and operating enterprise cloud platforms supporting multiple application or product teams.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure, including networking, identity and access management, cloud security services, and observability.
  • Proven experience developing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Bicep, or similar technologies.
  • Strong experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
  • Experience implementing cloud security controls, policy-as-code, and cloud-native security services.
  • Strong understanding of production cloud operations, incident management, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with FinOps, cloud cost optimisation, and consumption governance (highly desirable)
  • Experience with AI Platform implementation/integration (highly desirable)
