We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect with deep expertise in AWS and infrastructure architecture to join a major commercial aviation client. This is a high-impact role where you will design and deliver secure, scalable cloud solutions supporting critical aviation systems and enterprise platforms.

The Role

As a Cloud Architect, you will be responsible for leading the design, governance, and implementation of AWS-based infrastructure solutions. You will work closely with engineering, security, and business stakeholders to modernise and optimise cloud environments across complex, large-scale operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and implement scalable AWS cloud solutions

  • Lead infrastructure design across compute, networking, storage, and security

  • Develop and maintain cloud architecture standards and best practices

  • Drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation

  • Ensure compliance, resilience, and high availability across environments

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams

  • Support cloud migration and transformation initiatives

Required Experience

  • Proven experience as a Cloud Architect or Senior Cloud Engineer

  • Strong hands-on expertise across AWS services (EC2, VPC, RDS, S3, IAM, Lambda, etc.)

  • Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, networking, and security principles

  • Experience designing enterprise-scale, highly available systems

  • Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)

  • Experience in regulated or large enterprise environments preferred

Desirable

  • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect – Professional preferred)

  • Experience within aviation, transport, or other mission-critical industries

  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
