This large government body is looking for a Cloud Architect to oversee the entire architecture and technical direction for Microsoft-based solutions, including Azure cloud services and Microsoft 365.

In this role you will play a pivotal role in aligning the organisation’s strategic goals with cutting-edge digital initiatives, ensuring every project, from cloud infrastructure to collaboration tools, delivers measurable business value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design of integrated solutions across Microsoft’s suite of products.
  • Own and evolve the Microsoft Platform Roadmap, aligning it with the organisation’s digital strategy.
  • Define, implement, and enforce technology standards, governance, and best practices across the organisation. Maintain a focus on compliance, security, and scalability in every solution.
  • Work hand-in-hand with leadership, project managers, and technical teams to design flexible, scalable, and secure solutions that drive business outcomes and improve employee and client experiences.
  • Lead the charge in cloud adoption, ensuring hybrid and multi-cloud interoperability. Oversee network security, identity management, and enterprise security frameworks, particularly within Azure.

Skills and experience

  • Expertise in scalable, secure, high-performance architectures, microservices, APIs, DevOps, and cloud-native solutions.
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft Azure and M365, with strong proficiency across the Microsoft tech stack.
  • Ability to develop technology roadmaps and reference architectures aligned with business goals.
  • Strong leadership in guiding technical teams and coordinating multiple projects.
  • Skilled in leading design workshops, architectural reviews, and technical discussions.
  • Expertise in large-scale, strategic problem-solving to ensure efficiency and scalability.
  • Experience in setting and enforcing technical standards, policies, and best practices.
  • Strong communication with stakeholders, including C-level executives, balancing innovation, risk, and cost.
  • Proven track record of delivering architecture solutions that drive business improvement.
