Talent International is currently recruiting Client Service Officer (Customer Foundation) to work for the NSW Government, based in Parramatta. This is an Initial 5-week contract, with the possibility of extension, paying $41.59 per hour + Super.

7 hours per day/ 35 hours per week

About the Role

As a Client Service Officer, you will provide customers with a positive and supportive onboarding experience. You will listen to each customer’s story, assess their financial circumstances and make timely decisions with their wellbeing at the centre of every interaction.

You will manage initial customer contact, identify immediate needs and develop practical action plans and budgets. Some customers may remain with the Foundation Team for up to six months, depending on the complexity of their circumstances.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial customer conversations and understand their personal circumstances.
  • Assess customers’ financial situations, daily living needs and immediate priorities.
  • Build positive and professional relationships with customers.
  • Complete timely assessments and identify the complexity of each case.
  • Develop practical action plans and customer budgets.
  • Make immediate decisions that support customer safety and wellbeing.
  • Triage complex matters and refer them to the appropriate team or service.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and documentation.
  • Manage multiple customer matters while meeting service standards and deadlines.

About You

To succeed in this position, you will have:

  • Experience in customer service, case management, community services, financial administration or a similar environment.
  • Strong communication, listening and relationship-management skills.
  • The ability to discuss sensitive personal and financial circumstances with empathy.
  • Sound judgement and confidence in making timely decisions.
  • Strong assessment, problem-solving and prioritisation skills.
  • The ability to prepare basic budgets and practical action plans.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills.
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and customer-focused team.
  • Experience working with vulnerable customers or within government, financial services, disability, community services, guardianship or trustee environments will be highly regarded.
