An exceptional opportunity exists for an accomplished technology executive to join the Leadership Team as Chief Information and Innovation Officer.

Reporting to the Director, People and Experience, you will lead the City’s digital, technology and innovation agenda, driving enterprise-wide transformation across digital services, artificial intelligence, cyber security, enterprise technology, data and innovation. You will play a pivotal role in shaping a modern, secure and future-ready organisation that leverages technology to improve community outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver the City’s enterprise-wide Digital, ICT, AI and Innovation Strategy.
  • Lead major digital transformation, automation and business improvement initiatives that enhance organisational performance and customer experience.
  • Provide strategic leadership across enterprise architecture, cyber security, ICT governance, digital risk and responsible AI frameworks.
  • Oversee enterprise applications, data governance, analytics, ICT infrastructure and technology asset management.
  • Build and lead a high-performing Digital and Technology Services function while fostering strong partnerships across the Executive Leadership Team, Council, community stakeholders and strategic vendors.
  • Champion innovation, continuous improvement and emerging technologies to strengthen organisational capability and future readiness.

About You

You are an experienced executive leader with a proven ability to lead complex technology environments and deliver enterprise-wide transformation.

You will bring:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Information Systems, Business, Cyber Security, Digital Transformation or a related discipline.
  • Significant executive leadership experience within local government, the public sector or another large, complex organisation.
  • Demonstrated success developing and implementing enterprise digital, ICT and innovation strategies aligned with organisational priorities.
  • Expertise in responsible AI, digital governance, cyber security, enterprise architecture and technology risk management.
  • A strong track record delivering digital transformation, service optimisation, automation and technology-enabled organisational improvement.
  • Experience leading data governance, enterprise applications, ICT infrastructure, technology investment and asset lifecycle management.
  • Outstanding leadership, stakeholder engagement and commercial management skills, including experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing significant budgets and vendor partnerships.
