The Role

Be part of a transformative Defence program that is shaping Australia’s future command, control, communications, and intelligence capabilities. As a C4I Engineer, you’ll play a key role in guiding engineering decisions, managing technical artefacts, and ensuring the integrity of complex, mission-critical systems across the Defence network environment.

Your duties will include:

  • Providing expert engineering support to the C4I domain within the AIR6500 program
  • Developing detailed technical reports and documentation to inform engineering and validation decisions
  • Participating in technical reviews, working groups, and workshops across multidisciplinary teams
  • Reviewing industry artefacts and contributing to the development of functional baselines
  • Assisting in the identification, assessment, and mitigation of C4I-related risks
  • Supporting the Engineering Manager with coordination and technical oversight across project phases

Skills and Experience we are looking for:

  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering or a related technical field
  • Experience supporting Defence acquisition projects or complex Defence programs
  • Minimum five years’ experience within Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (C4I) systems
  • Strong understanding of distributed network architectures and Defence ICT environments
  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Eligibility to obtain or hold NV2 clearance
