Business Data & Reporting Analyst | Enterprise Data, BI & Solution Analysis

• Location: ACT (Hybrid)
• Security Clearance: NV1 Security Clearance (Mandatory – must already be held)
• Contract Length: 12 months + 2 × (12-month extensions – Based on the discretion of the Department)

About the position:

This is a senior Business Data & Reporting Analyst role operating at the intersection of business analysis, data architecture, and enterprise reporting within a Federal Government environment. The focus is on translating complex business needs into scalable, well-governed data and reporting solutions across BAU and project delivery. This role suits analysts who operate confidently across strategy, detail, and delivery not just documentation.

What you’ll do:

• Analyse business processes, data flows, and performance to identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities

• Elicit, define, and manage epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and non-functional requirements

• Translate business needs into clear data models, reporting requirements, and solution artefacts

• Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams across data, BI, and platform delivery

What we’re looking for:

• 7+ years’ experience in business analysis within complex, data-driven environments

• Strong capability defining requirements using best-practice business analysis techniques and modelling standards

• Confidence facilitating workshops, interviews, and stakeholder forums at all levels

• Proven ability to proactively identify inefficiencies and influence practical, data-led solutions

Technology & environment:

• Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, and enterprise reporting platforms

• Requirements definition including epics, user stories, NFRs, and process models

• Collaboration with Architects, Developers, Database Administrators, testers, and Product owners

• Delivery within regulated, security-conscious government ICT environments

Important to know:

• This is not a junior or documentation-only Business Analyst role

• You will struggle if your experience stops at note-taking rather than solution ownership
