Position Overview
We are seeking experienced Business Architects to support the translation of strategic objectives into practical, enterprise-wide business solutions. This role plays a critical part in aligning strategy, operating models, capabilities, processes and technology investments to deliver measurable outcomes. Working within a complex government environment, you will collaborate with stakeholders to shape future-state business design, support reform initiatives, and contribute to informed investment decisions.Key Duties
- Lead business architecture activities to inform strategy development and investment roadmaps
- Develop business capability models, operating models and supporting artefacts
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement, co-design workshops and cross-functional collaboration
- Identify opportunities for business improvement and modernisation aligned to strategic priorities
- Support development of regulatory reform initiatives and future business models
- Translate business needs into clear specifications and structured documentation
- Contribute to enterprise architecture alignment and portfolio planning activities
- Produce key deliverables including business and functional specifications, risk plans and status reports
- Support capability uplift by transferring knowledge and maintaining documentation standards
- Participate in communities of practice and contribute to continuous improvement
Skills and Experience Required
- Demonstrated experience in business architecture within complex environments
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
- Proven ability to lead business process improvement initiatives at scale
- Experience developing business capability models and operating model frameworks
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF)
- Experience with process modelling and design methodologies (e.g. BPMN)
- Understanding of service design and human-centred design practices
- Awareness of data, integration and technology ecosystems
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality outcomes
- Ability to obtain a Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance
