Long-term rolling day rate contract to be based in Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane or Sydney. Fantastic opportunity to join a brand-new Branch of a large federal government agency tasked with working across the organization to ensure alignment of vision, values, people, process and technology to enable the successful delivery of services to both customers and staff. Multiple positions available at mid to senior level for experienced Business Process Specialists/Business Architects.

Role

Reporting to the Director of Business Improvement and working closely with the Lean/Continuous Improvement Team and Operational Technology Team, this varied role will see you working across multiple Branches to lead multiple business improvement initiatives which can cover new operating models, new ways of working, process improvement, productivity and technology tooling. The role covers elements of project management, business architecture, process improvement, change management and communication.
Key responsibilities:

  • Consulting analysis, workshops and one-on-one facilitation of stakeholder meetings to develop initiatives to improve operational efficiency in respective branches
  • Work with the Director to stand up and lead business improvement initiatives from business cases, business plans, briefs, performance reporting, status reporting
  • Drive operating model maturity, process improvement and end-to-end business outcomes
  • Change and communications management to assist with transition to future state
  • Engagement with IT and Operational Technology Team to ensure the Branches have access and training for the right productivity tools

Requirements

  • Background in Business Architecture/Business Analysis with Continuous Improvement, Lean, Six Sigma lens – or deep expertise in As-Is and To-Be process improvement
  • Experience working across enterprise (whole of business) to develop new operating models, new ways of working
  • Project management and leadership skills e.g. project planning, scheduling, Kanban – experience standing up new projects from scoping and initiation and business cases
  • Change Management and communication planning to deliver the Future State
  • Outstanding consulting and business engagement skills
  • Willingness to learn and develop skills in business architecture and internal consulting
  • Experience with architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or Zachman, nice to have
  • Experience in state or federal government, nice to have
  • Proof of Australian Citizenship required to pass federal background checks
