The Role

This is a specialist Business Analyst opportunity embedded within a strategic Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) delivery program in a large, complex enterprise environment.

Working closely with cyber security teams, security architects, infrastructure specialists and business stakeholders, you will lead requirements gathering and process analysis across the implementation and integration of enterprise PKI capabilities. You will map current and future state processes, define detailed requirements and ensure certificate lifecycle management solutions align with security standards, operational needs and broader cyber security strategy.

The role requires a Business Analyst who can operate confidently between technical and business domains, bringing enough PKI and cyber security knowledge to engage credibly with technical specialists while translating complex requirements into clear, actionable delivery outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the elicitation, analysis and documentation of business, functional and technical requirements across the PKI delivery program.
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder interviews to map current and future state processes across certificate issuance, renewal, revocation and broader certificate lifecycle management.
  • Translate complex security and operational requirements into clear technical specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria and process documentation for engineering and delivery teams.
  • Partner with cyber security, architecture and infrastructure teams to ensure PKI requirements align with enterprise security policies, standards, regulatory obligations and target-state architecture.
  • Maintain end-to-end requirements traceability throughout delivery, managing dependencies and ensuring implemented solutions remain aligned with approved business objectives.
  • Conduct risk assessments and business impact analysis across certificate management processes, identifying potential operational and security risks and supporting appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Develop high-quality business analysis artefacts, process workflows and standard operating procedures to support implementation, transition and ongoing operational resilience.
  • Support project planning, dependency management and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring delivered PKI capabilities meet agreed functional, technical and business requirements.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Demonstrated Business Analyst experience delivering complex cyber security, identity, infrastructure or enterprise technology programs within large organisational environments.
  • Strong understanding of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) concepts, including certificate lifecycle management, digital certificates and their role within enterprise identity and security environments.
  • Proven ability to elicit, analyse and manage complex business and technical requirements, producing high-quality user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps and requirements documentation.
  • Strong process analysis capability, with experience mapping current and future state workflows and identifying opportunities to improve security, operational efficiency and service resilience.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills, with the ability to work across cyber security specialists, architects, engineers and business stakeholders and translate highly technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, including experience identifying risks, dependencies and business impacts across complex technology initiatives.

Nice to Have:

  • Previous experience working specifically on PKI, certificate management, cryptography, Identity & Access Management (IDAM) or related cyber security programs.
  • Experience supporting enterprise security transformation within higher education, government or another large and complex organisation.
  • Relevant tertiary or postgraduate qualifications in Information Technology, Cyber Security, Business, Information Systems or a related discipline.

What’s in it for You:

  • Initial 12-month contract with potential for extension.
  • Clayton, Melbourne location with hybrid working – 2 days working from home per week.
  • High-impact Business Analyst role within a strategic enterprise PKI and cyber security delivery program.
  • Work closely with experienced cyber security, architecture and infrastructure specialists on a complex security capability with organisation-wide impact.
