Business Analyst - Operating Model Implementation (IT Division)

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support the implementation phase of a large-scale IT Division Operating Model transformation. This role will play a critical part in translating the target operating model into executable processes, detailed requirements, and aligned business practices.

Working closely with IT leadership, delivery teams, and business stakeholders, the Business Analyst will focus heavily on requirements gathering, process mapping, gap analysis, and implementation support to ensure the new operating model is effectively embedded.

Key Responsibilities

Operating Model Implementation

  • Support the implementation of the IT Division Target Operating Model.
  • Translate high-level operating model design into detailed business and functional requirements.
  • Identify and document impacts across people, process, governance, and technology domains.
  • Partner with IT leadership to ensure alignment between strategy and execution.

Requirements Gathering & Documentation

  • Lead workshops and stakeholder interviews to elicit business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
  • Produce high-quality documentation including:
    • Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)
    • Functional Specifications
    • User Stories and Acceptance Criteria
    • Process maps and workflows
  • Ensure traceability of requirements through to implementation.

Process Mapping & Gap Analysis

  • Map current-state (as-is) processes across IT functions.
  • Design future-state (to-be) processes aligned to the new operating model.
  • Conduct gap analysis and identify remediation activities.
  • Support the development of SOPs, RACI matrices, and governance frameworks.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Engage with senior IT stakeholders, service owners, delivery managers, and operational teams.
  • Facilitate workshops and working sessions.
  • Manage competing priorities and drive consensus across diverse stakeholder groups.

Required Experience & Skills

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst within complex enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting operating model design and/or implementation in beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Strong background in IT organisational structures, governance models, and service delivery frameworks.
  • Proven experience in:
    • Requirements elicitation and documentation
    • Process mapping (BPMN or equivalent)
    • Gap analysis and impact assessment
  • Experience working within IT divisions (e.g. infrastructure, applications, service management, PMO).
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills.
  • Ability to operate in ambiguity and drive outcomes in transformation environments.

Contract Details:

  • 4 Months with possibility for extension
  • $850 – $950 per day inc super
  • WFH flexibility
