Business Analyst
- 12-month initial contract + 12-month extension
- Current Baseline Security Clearance required
- $125-$130 per hour (including super) | ACT location
Position Overview
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Business Analyst to support large-scale digital, business transformation and service delivery initiatives within a Federal Government environment. Working across both business and technical teams, you will play a key role in understanding business needs, documenting requirements, analysing impacts, improving processes and contributing to the successful delivery of strategic outcomes. This position offers the opportunity to work on meaningful projects in a collaborative and evolving delivery environment.
Key Duties
- Gather, analyse and document business and functional requirements.
- Facilitate workshops and discovery sessions with business and technical stakeholders.
- Map current and future state business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Translate business needs into clear analysis artefacts and documentation.
- Analyse business impacts, risks and dependencies to support project delivery.
- Support data-related business analysis, including business rules, data flows and reporting requirements.
- Work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful delivery outcomes.
- Contribute to stakeholder engagement and maintain alignment throughout project lifecycles.
Skills and Experience Required
- Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst within complex project or operational environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proven experience gathering requirements and producing high-quality business analysis artefacts.
- Experience analysing and improving business processes.
- Ability to work effectively across both business and technical teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Sound judgement, adaptability and a practical, outcomes-focused approach.
- Experience with BABOK, Agile, Human-Centred Design, User-Centred Design and/or the Digital Service Standard will be highly regarded.
- Current Baseline Security Clearance is essential.
