Talent International is searching for an experienced Business Analyst to join our State Government client based in the Brisbane CBD on a contract through to 30 June 2026, with strong extension potential.

The role:

You’ll join a regulatory-focused State Government division undergoing a significant Ways of Working transformation program. This initiative aims to uplift dispute resolution processes, modernise technology platforms, and enhance productivity across a high-volume review and appeals environment. As the Business Analyst, you’ll work closely with business and technical teams to gather and translate requirements, map processes, support system enhancements, and contribute to the uplift of a bespoke case management system. This role suits a proactive, detail-driven BA with strong experience in Agile environments, system uplift projects, and high-regulation settings.

Responsibilities:

  • Gather, analyse, and document business and functional requirements via workshops, interviews & user story mapping
  • Translate requirements into clear user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria for Agile delivery teams
  • Facilitate backlog refinement, sprint planning, and review sessions
  • Analyse current-state processes and identify opportunities for improvement and automation
  • Develop BPMN 2.0 models, use case diagrams, and workflow documentation
  • Work closely with developers and testers across the SDLC
  • Support system integration activities, data flow design, and technical specifications
  • Participate in UAT and SIT activities including test case development & defect triage
  • Maintain full end-to-end requirements traceability and documentation compliance

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst in Agile system enhancement or development projects
  • Strong skills in BPMN 2.0, UML Use Cases, and process modelling tools such as Visio
  • Proven ability to gather/document requirements using Agile techniques (user stories, epics, acceptance criteria)
  • Experience working with case management or enterprise systems
  • Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Office Suite & Microsoft Visio
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills across business & technical teams
  • Experience with SharePoint and the Power Platform (including Power Automate)
  • Understanding of SDLC methodologies including Agile, DevOps & Waterfall

Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes under time pressure
