
Brand & Design Manager
The Role
A State Government department is looking for a Brand & Design Manager (VPS5.1) to lead rebrand initiatives, deliver hands-on design work, and set visual identity standards. You will manage a small group within a design team, and act as a technical SME in visual communication. The role will require conceptual design thinking, problem-solving skills and the ability to deliver creative solutions in a fast-paced environment. This fixed-term VPS opportunity runs until November 2026, with a hybrid model.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver hands-on design work across branding, rebrand and conceptual projects.
- Act as a technical SME for visual communication, accessibility and design identity.
- Produce high-quality design outputs using Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Contribute to conceptual design and future-focused brand initiatives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to problem-solve and deliver under pressure.
About You:
- Proven experience delivering hands-on visual design work while leading teams.
- Strong portfolio of brand, rebrand and conceptual design projects.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Knowledge of design systems, accessibility (WCAG 2.1) and brand identity.
