Solution Architect – Azure / Microservices

We are partnering with a leading organisation to engage an experienced Solution Architect with strong Azure and modern digital platform expertise to support a high-profile transformation initiative.

This role will suit a hands-on architect who is passionate about designing scalable, secure, and customer-centric solutions across cloud-native and microservices environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver scalable cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure
• Define architecture patterns for microservices and distributed systems
• Lead API and integration strategy across enterprise platforms
• Collaborate with engineering, delivery, and business stakeholders
• Drive best practices across security, scalability, resilience, and cost optimisation
• Support DevOps and CI/CD implementation approaches
• Contribute to architecture governance and technical decision-making

Required Skills & Experience

Azure Architecture Expertise

• Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise solutions on Microsoft Azure
• Strong knowledge of Azure App Services, Azure Functions, API Management, AKS, Service Bus, and Event Grid
• Experience implementing secure, scalable, and cost-optimised architectures

Microservices & Distributed Systems

• Strong experience designing microservices-based architectures
• Solid understanding of service decomposition, API design, and inter-service communication patterns
• Experience with event-driven and asynchronous processing models

Customer-Facing Digital Platforms

• Demonstrated experience delivering architectures for large-scale web and mobile applications
• Strong understanding of performance, availability, and user experience considerations
• Experience integrating identity platforms such as Azure AD B2C or similar

Integration & API Strategy

• Strong API-led architecture approach using REST and/or GraphQL
• Experience with API gateways and API lifecycle management
• Exposure to enterprise and SaaS integration patterns

DevOps & Modern Delivery Practices

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions
• Infrastructure as Code experience with Bicep, ARM, or Terraform
• Familiarity with automated testing, release strategies, and environment management
