About the Position:

This isn’t a traditional cloud engineering role.

It’s about building secure, resilient AWS platforms that support critical enterprise services while embedding security into every stage of the delivery lifecycle.

Working within an Agile and DevSecOps environment, you’ll partner closely with architecture, application and platform teams to design, implement and continuously improve secure AWS solutions. From platform design through to deployment, operations and ongoing optimisation, you’ll play a key role in balancing security, performance and maintainability across modern cloud environments.

If you enjoy solving complex cloud security challenges, influencing technical direction and building secure-by-design platforms that support long-term operational outcomes, this is the kind of role where you’ll make a genuine impact.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design and implement secure AWS platform solutions across both traditional and containerised workloads.
  • Embed security controls into platform architecture, DevSecOps pipelines and operational practices.
  • Provide technical leadership and security assurance, ensuring solutions align with enterprise architecture and government security frameworks.
  • Drive continuous improvement across cloud platforms, observability, automation and operational capability.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Proven experience designing and securing enterprise AWS environments with a strong focus on cloud platform engineering.
  • Strong understanding of DevSecOps, infrastructure automation, security governance and modern cloud delivery practices.
  • Experience implementing secure, scalable AWS solutions across container, API and event-driven architectures.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence secure delivery outcomes and provide practical technical leadership.

Technology & Environment:

  • AWS (ECS, Fargate, Lambda, EC2, Aurora, API Gateway, EventBridge, Kinesis & DMS)
  • DevSecOps, CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code
  • Cloud Security, Observability and Operational Assurance
  • Agile Delivery, Enterprise Architecture and Government Security Frameworks

A Quick Note Before You Apply:

This role is unlikely to suit candidates whose experience has been limited to cloud infrastructure support without broader ownership of cloud security architecture, platform engineering and secure solution delivery.

Success in this role requires balancing technical depth with security, governance and practical engineering to deliver cloud platforms that remain secure, scalable and supportable over time.
