Associate Network Engineer

Role Title: Associate Network Engineer
Employment Type: Permanent
Location + WFH Flexibility: Sydney CBD | 4 days onsite, 1 half-day WFH
Salary: $92,000 + super + 10% bonus
Role Details:
- Provide Level 1 and 2 support across LAN, WAN and Wi-Fi environments in a global network
- Troubleshoot connectivity, routing and performance issues across enterprise infrastructure
- Perform BAU tasks including VLAN changes, switch configuration, firewall patching and network updates
- Support firewalls and VPN environments, including configuration and performance troubleshooting
- Investigate incidents using logs, trace routes and monitoring tools, working closely with global teams
- Participate in a 60-day shift rotation (early/late shifts with ~1 hour difference)
- Weekend work required: 1 day onsite (Saturday or Sunday) as part of a roster
- Operate in a follow-the-sun model with no after-hours or on-call
Required Skills and Experiences:
- 2-3 years’ experience in Service Desk or IT Operations, looking to step into networking
- Strong networking fundamentals (routing, switching, TCP/IP, troubleshooting)
- Hands-on exposure to router/switch configuration and network troubleshooting
- Comfortable working with CLI
- Experience working within ITIL environments (incident + change management)
- Exposure to monitoring tools and working to SLAs
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a structured shift environment
Technical Exposure (Highly Valued):
- SD-WAN architecture (key focus area)
- Palo Alto firewalls
- BGP (highly regarded)
- Network monitoring and observability tools
- VPN and remote access technologies
- Nice to have: AWS (Route 53), PowerShell, Terraform, MPLS
