Architecture Practice Lead

The State Revenue Office (SRO) is seeking an experienced Architecture Practice Lead to guide our enterprise architecture function and shape the technology landscape supporting Victoria’s revenue management systems.
As part of the Business Technology Services (BTS) Senior Management Team, you’ll set the strategic direction for the SRO’s architecture practice – leading a talented team across business, data, application, and technology domains to ensure our ICT initiatives are future-focused, integrated, and aligned with organisational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of enterprise-wide architecture strategies that drive organisational change and digital transformation.
- Oversee solution architecture for complex programs, ensuring consistency with business requirements and technology standards.
- Establish and maintain architecture principles, governance, and frameworks (e.g. TOGAF).
- Lead a team of 5-10 Architects
- Build and nurture relationships with senior stakeholders across business and government, influencing ICT investment and policy decisions.
- Develop and mentor a team of high-performing architects, fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Extensive experience leading enterprise or solution architecture practices in complex organisations.
- Leading a team of 5-10 Architects
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at executive level.
- Proven capability in establishing governance frameworks and architecture standards.
- Experience enabling large-scale ICT or digital transformation initiatives.
- Alignment with the Victorian Public Sector values of integrity, accountability, respect, and leadership.
