
APS6 Senior Media Officer
Talent International is currently recruiting for an APS6 Senior Media Officer to work for one of our Federal Government clients based in Surry Hills. The position is a 12-month contract role with the possibility of extension, and the role pays $60.26/hr + Super.
7.5 hours per day and 37.5 hours per week
The APS6 Senior Media Officer is accountable under limited direction to undertake complex work that is guided by legislation, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies and precedents.
The position is required to provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems. Where required, the role will coordinate and assist in the strategic planning, program and project management and policy development that support the client’s objectives.
The APS6 Senior Media Officer will have a considerable level of public and media contact in relation to complex, difficult or sensitive issues. It is required to liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders in a representational role on behalf of the branch/division/client.
Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- Working strategically to seek opportunities to promote the Scheme and the work of the client.
- Contributing to a strategic and nationally consistent approach for the Agency and supporting media and communications approaches that leverage best practice.
- Collaborating with client subject matter experts to develop comprehensive media packages for TV, online, print, radio and social platforms.
- Creating and delivering compelling media pitches.
- Producing and contributing to media and other communications products including media releases and talking points.
- Collaborating with relevant stakeholders to develop media plans to support client announcements and media opportunities.
- Contributing to strategies to improve channels and platforms including NDIS website, Ministerial and Executive briefings, event materials and social media.
- Supporting the monitoring and identification of potential media risks.
- Utilising reporting metrics to review the impact of media and communications approaches, identifying areas for improvement.
- Managing and responding to media enquiries and working within an after-hours rotational on-call media roster.
- Supporting the delivery of media engagement and communication activities.
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to support the promotion of the Scheme and the work of the client.
