
APS6 Project Officer
The Client:
We are seeking a detail-oriented APS6 Project Officer to support our client, a federal government agency for an initial term of 12 months (opportunity to extend) paying an hourly rate of $60.26 + Super. This role can be based in Richmond or Geelong with potential WFH flexibility.
The Role:
The APS6 Project Officer will be responsible in managing and coordinating projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and participant experiences. In this position, you will be expected to develop and implement project plans, monitor project progress, and ensure compliance with departmental guidelines and standards. Your responsibilities will also include conducting research and analysis to support project decision-making and drafting technical reports and documentation for stakeholder review. You will work closely with various teams and stakeholders to communicate project status, manage expectations, and identify any risks or issues that may arise during projects.
Required Skills:
- Strong understanding of agile project management methodologies.
- Ability to meet deadlines while effectively managing competing priorities.
- Experience in developing and maintaining project documentation.
- Proven success in working independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Clear and concise communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (Word, PowerPoint, Planner) and knowledge of privacy and accessibility guidelines.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in government administration.
- Familiarity with service delivery functions relevant to the federal government.
- Background in data analysis or performance reporting.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- At least 2 years of project management experience is preferred.
- Qualifications in project management, government, or social services are favourable.
Other Requirements:
- Flexibility to work from home occasionally and adapt to a hot desk environment.
- This role may require some travel to attend meetings or project-related events.
