Our client is a large, purpose driven Federal Government Agency seeking an APS6 Project Coordinator to support the delivery of complex projects and continuous improvement initiatives within a nationally significant program.

This role sits within the Performance, Quality and National Workload Management Branch to drive high-quality end-to-end participant experiences through Continuous Improvement, a Quality Management Framework, and performance management activities.

The branch reviews operational consistency and quality across the participant value chain, identifies trends and insights to improve service delivery, and supports capability uplift through evidence-based learning and development initiatives. branch focused on performance, quality and national workload management. You’ll work across multiple projects, supporting planning, delivery, reporting and stakeholder engagement to improve operational outcomes and service quality.

  • Australian Citizenship required (MANDATORY – Federal Government).
  • Initial contract through to 31 December 2026, with potential extension.
  • APS6 hourly rate of $60.26 + Super.
  • WFH Flexibility – Based in Geelong VIC.

About the role:

The APS6 Project Coordinator works under limited direction to coordinate and support multiple projects within established project management frameworks. You will contribute to strategic planning, monitor delivery against agreed milestones, and provide high quality advice, analysis and reporting.

The role requires strong organisational skills, the ability to manage competing priorities, and confidence engaging with stakeholders across a complex operating environment.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting and coordinating project delivery activities in line with agreed plans and schedules.
  • Contributing to the development and management of project documentation and artefacts.
  • Monitoring project progress, risks, issues and benefits, and supporting mitigation strategies.
  • Preparing written material including reports, briefs and project documentation.
  • Supporting budget monitoring, procurement and contract management activities.
  • Contributing to project quality assurance to ensure deliverables meet agreed standards.
  • Engaging with internal stakeholders to support delivery of project outcomes.

Essential criteria:

  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and manage competing priorities.
  • Experience delivering complex project work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparing briefs and reports.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making capability.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Relevant project management qualifications.
  • Experience supporting large-scale change or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Government administration or public sector experience.
