About the Role
As an APS6 People Policy and Workplace Relations professional, you will operate with reasonable autonomy and accountability, interpreting legislation and applying practices that align with the agency’s mission. You will research and advise on HR policies, support process improvements, and facilitate stakeholder engagements. This role is essential in addressing complex and sensitive workplace issues while advancing the agency’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research, interpret, and implement the agency enterprise agreement, policies, and relevant legislation.
- Support business process improvements across HR functions.
- Develop and review employment-related policies, procedures, and delegations.
- Provide clear, actionable advice to managers regarding employee relations and performance policies.
- Foster relationships across the agency and the broader APS HR networks.
- Coordinate and contribute to effective HR project design and delivery.
Skills and Experience:
- Extensive HR expertise, particularly in workplace conditions within an APS context.
- Knowledge of HR-related legislation, including the Public Service Act and Enterprise Agreements.
- Ability to draft and develop HR policies with minimal oversight.
- Experience in stakeholder management and collaboration with subject matter experts.
- Strong communication skills for drafting inclusive materials for diverse audiences.
- Sound advisory capabilities concerning workplace conditions and policy queries.
Qualifications:
- Relevant degree in Human Resources, Management, or a related field.
- Professional accreditation in HR is desirable.
