The opportunity

Our client is a community focused Federal Government Agency. They are currently seeking an APS6 Organisational Design Officer to provide expert advice and support on organisational design functions, including workforce planning, change management, and role evaluations.

This contract will commence as soon as possible and run until Dec 31st 2026, with the possibility of extension. You can be based out of either Richmond or Geelong with 2-3 days working from home, offering $60.26 + Super hourly.

Locations: Richmond VIC / Geelong VIC.
Contract: Until 31 December 2026 with extension potential.
Hours: Full-time, 8:30am-5:00pm.
Rate: $60.26 per hour (excluding super).
Eligibility: Australian Citizenship required (Federal Government).

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the development and maintenance of core role statements within the framework of the Agency job families, ensuring alignment with organisational standards and requirements.
  • Supporting workforce planning by analysing current and future workforce needs and recommending appropriate organisational structures.
  • Contributing to specialist advice and support on a range of Organisational Design functions.
  • Providing specialist advice and support on Professional and Legal Officer requests, broadbanding requests and role evaluations.
  • Conducting organisational assessments to identify areas for improvement and recommend structural changes.
  • Completing role evaluation assessments for APS roles.
  • Managing and delivering identified Organisational Design projects.

About you

  • Ability to assess organisational structures, identify areas for improvement, and recommend effective solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders, gather requirements, and ensure alignment with organisational goals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey information, present findings, and engage with stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing and delivering organisational design projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Expertise in developing and implementing strategies to support organisational change and ensure smooth transitions.
