The opportunity:
Our highly valued client is a federal government agency. They are seeking an APS6 level Consumer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) Engineer to develop, implement and support Identity and Access Management solutions focused on external customers and consumers.

  • Richmond location plus hybrid work-from-home
  • 12 month initial contract + 12 month extension, rates fully negotiable
  • Role only open to Australian Citizens – Federal government client

The role:
Join the Consumer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) team building out the NDIA’s newly established CIAM platform. As a CIAM Engineer, you will work within the CIAM team and alongside architects and business stakeholders to design, implement and maintain CIAM solutions. Work with us to combat fraud and keep participants and their carers safe and thriving. The Consumer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) team is responsible for delivering and operating large-scale authentication, access and identity services across participants, providers, partners and more, using a modern technology stack.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing consumer identity and access management solutions, leveraging emerging technologies and CIAM best practice
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to understand business requirements and design effective solutions in-line with regulatory obligations and best practice
  • Optimising CIAM solutions for scalability, performance, and user experience
  • Rotations through the CIAM Operations team, investigating incidents and maintaining the platform
  • Develop and implement automations and integrations to enhance CIAM capabilities and operations
  • Possible after-hours on-call

Skills and experience:
To succeed in this role you will need:

  • Demonstrated software development experience implementing customised Consumer Identity and Access Management solutions
  • Technical experience with ForgeRock, PingOne Advanced Identity Cloud, PingAM or PingIDM experience
  • Ability to design CIAM solutions in alignment with business requirements and industry best practice
  • Experience maintaining CIAM solutions, including investigating and resolving production incidents.
  • Experience with CIAM products and platforms, such as Auth0, Okta, ForgeRock, Ping or equivalent.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently manage workload and priorities.
  • Proven ability to adapt to the changing conditions of a newly established platform.
  • Experience engineering in a microservice architecture
  • Frontend development experience is desirable
