The Client:
We are seeking a dedicated APS5 Project Officer to support our client, a federal government agency, for an initial term of 12 months (with the potential for extension) paying an hourly rate of $55.24 + Super. This role can be based in Richmond or Geelong, with opportunities for flexible WFH arrangements.

The Role:
The APS5 Project Officer will be accountable for managing and coordinating various project activities that aim to drive operational efficiency and improve overall performance. In this position, you will assist in the development and management of project plans, monitor implementation processes, and ensure adherence to established frameworks and standards. Your tasks will involve conducting research and analysis to inform project decisions, providing policy advice, and preparing reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders. Effective communication and collaboration with diverse teams will be integral to navigate project complexities and address any arising issues.

Required Skills:

  • Understanding of agile project management methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines while managing competing priorities.
  • Proven experience in developing and maintaining comprehensive project documentation.
  • Ability to think critically and provide technical assistance in specific project areas.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to engage effectively with stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (Word, PowerPoint, Planner) and a solid understanding of privacy and accessibility guidelines.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in government or public sector administration.
  • Familiarity with service delivery and operational functions within the federal landscape.
  • Background in data analysis or performance reporting is advantageous.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • At least 2 years of relevant project management experience is preferred.
  • Qualifications in project management, public administration, or a related field are advantageous.

Other Requirements:

  • Willingness to work from home occasionally and adapt to a flexible desk arrangement.
  • Some travel may be required for meetings or project-related events.
