APS5 Finance Officer

Talent International is currently recruiting for an APS5 Finance Officer to work for one of our Federal Government clients at Surry Hills. The position is contract role till Dec with the possibility of extension. The role pays $55.24 per hour + Super.

7.6 hours per day and 38 hours per week

About the role

The APS5 Finance Officer will support the delivery of finance and operational services within a busy team environment. You may provide day-to-day guidance to junior team members, assist with setting priorities and manage a range of moderately complex finance enquiries.

You will work closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers and shared service providers to ensure invoices, payments and finance-related requests are processed accurately and on time.

Key responsibilities

• Quality assure and process bulk vendor and payment upload requests.
• Maintain relevant documentation, registers, reports and tracking spreadsheets.
• Coordinate, monitor and resolve outstanding Accounts Payable invoices.
• Respond to and resolve Finance Service Desk queries.
• Prepare weekly outstanding invoice reports and follow up overdue invoices.
• Conduct daily checks for potential duplicate invoices.
• Liaise with business areas, suppliers and service providers regarding outstanding payments.
• Investigate and resolve eInvoice processing issues.
• Support grant review and processing activities.
• Coordinate approvals and processing of Direct Payment Requests.
• Investigate and resolve unmatched goods receipts.

Essential criteria

• Background in Finance, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and/or credit card management.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong customer service and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Sound understanding of government procurement and goods receipting processes.

Desirable criteria

• Experience working with a shared services provider.
• Experience using SAP.
