Talent International is currently recruiting for an APS5 Data and Reporting Analyst to work for one of our Federal Government clients based in Newcastle or Campbelltown. The position is a 6-month contract role with the possibility of extension. The role pays $55.24 per hour + Super.

7.6 hours per day and 38 hours per week

About the Role

As a Data & Reporting Analyst, you will be responsible for extracting, analysing, and presenting data to support organisational performance monitoring and reporting. You will work closely with stakeholders to develop reporting solutions, improve data quality, and deliver actionable insights through high-quality reports and dashboards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Extract, manipulate, and analyse data from multiple sources to produce accurate and meaningful reports.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and visualisations that support business performance and strategic objectives.
  • Interpret complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
  • Conduct data validation, cleansing, and quality assurance activities to ensure data integrity.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Identify and implement improvements to reporting processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Maintain technical and procedural documentation to support reporting consistency and governance.
  • Support project coordination activities including planning, progress tracking, and reporting.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and communicate insights effectively.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:
    • Power Query
    • Pivot Tables
    • Advanced formulas and functions
    • Advanced charting and reporting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to build effective stakeholder relationships and work collaboratively across teams.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to process improvement.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience supporting project delivery, including planning, progress tracking, and outcome measurement.
  • Experience gathering, analysing, and documenting business requirements related to data and reporting.
  • Previous experience within Government environments will be highly regarded.
