Talent International are currently recruiting for multiple APS5 & APS6 Senior Events Officer’s to work for an Australian Federal Government Client based in central Geelong.

This position is an initial 12-month contract with the view to be extended and is paying an hourly rate of $55.24 to $60.26 + Super respectively.


Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the preparation and logistics of a range of events for the NDIA including sessions, forums, conferences and webinars, providing local logistical event coordination as required.
  • Monitor a public facing email inbox. Responding to requests of event attendees and hosts on behalf of the NDIA.
  • Identify opportunities to represent the NDIA in interactions with key stakeholders and public facing events.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with community and mainstream stakeholders to promote the NDIS, including providing information and guidance to people with disability, NDIS participants, providers and the wider community.
  • Advocate for, and be a part of, the growth of your colleagues around you. Exercising a ‘leadership at all levels’ approach to your teamwork.
  • Liaising with and helping to coordinate external supplies in accordance with NDIA deadlines, resources, budgets, contracts, and policies.
  • Assuming responsibility for data management including the collation of stakeholder mapping and reporting of event sentiment feedback. Using a range of programs to identify associated risks and trends to assist forward planning and informed deliverables.
  • Providing content for briefing and event related documents, undertaking research as required.
  • Coordinating competing requests and demands, setting priorities and managing workflow of immediate work area, and maintain high work standards and accuracy.
  • Supporting the delivery of materials for strategic projects as required.

About you?

  • Positive contemporary attitudes to people with disability, high level understanding and knowledge of disability, and its impact on individuals.
  • Relevant experience in event management, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams, external partners, and suppliers.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to develop and maintain networks.
  • Able to negotiate effectively by listening differing ideas and views to develop a clear understanding of the issues, and to present persuasive counterarguments.
