About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-impact project supporting a world-leading initiative. As an APS4 Data Scientist, you will play a key role in delivering data-driven insights and solutions that support critical decision-making processes. This role is ideal for a motivated professional with a passion for analytics and a desire to make a meaningful difference.

Your duties will include:

  • Extracting, cleansing, and preparing data from multiple sources, including data warehouses
  • Developing and updating regular performance monitoring reports
  • Supporting statutory reporting requirements, including data analysis for public and internal reporting
  • Designing and utilising statistical and mathematical modelling techniques for predictive analysis
  • Communicating progress and outcomes to stakeholders through verbal and written updates
  • Preparing and reviewing technical tables, charts, and commentary for inclusion in key reports

Skills and Experience we are looking for:

  • Demonstrated data analytics experience, ideally in a government or policy development context
  • Proficiency in R or Python for data manipulation and analysis
  • Strong SQL/SAS programming skills
  • Experience working collaboratively in a team and independently with minimal guidance
  • General understanding of statistical modelling techniques and their applications
  • Experience developing dashboards and visualisations for non-technical stakeholders
