A leading Australian asset management organisation supporting critical infrastructure and defence is seeking an experienced Application Support Engineer with strong IFS functional and configuration expertise to join their technology team on a 12-month contract. With a workforce of approximately 3,000-5,000 employees, this organisation plays a vital role in maintaining and optimising systems that underpin nationally significant assets. This role offers the opportunity to work in a stable, security-focused environment while supporting business-critical enterprise platforms.

The Role
In this role, you will provide hands-on application support across IFS at a functional and configuration level, ensuring the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of core business systems.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide Level 2/3 application support for IFS, with a focus on functional troubleshooting and system configuration
  • Support and maintain IFS modules aligned to asset management, finance, supply chain, and maintenance operations
  • Configure workflows, business rules, roles, and permissions within IFS
  • Investigate and resolve incidents, service requests, and system defects in line with SLAs
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand issues, requirements, and process improvements
  • Support system upgrades, patches, and enhancements across the IFS environment
  • Assist with integration support between IFS and other enterprise applications
  • Produce and maintain system documentation, configuration guides, and support procedures
  • Work closely with vendors, integrators, and internal IT teams to ensure system stability

About You
You’re a hands-on application support professional who enjoys working close to the business and solving complex system issues. You’ll bring:

  • Proven experience supporting IFS Applications at a functional and configuration level
  • Strong understanding of enterprise asset management and ERP business processes
  • Experience troubleshooting workflows, configurations, and system behaviours within IFS
  • Ability to work across incidents, enhancements, and BAU support simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical issues for non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience working in structured, security-conscious or regulated environments

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to SAP in a support, functional, or configuration capacity
  • Experience working in asset-intensive, infrastructure, utilities, or defence-related environments
  • ITIL or service management experience
