API Test Lead – Platform & Integration

We’re seeking an experienced API Test Lead to own and uplift API quality across a large, enterprise banking environment. This is a senior, hands-on role combining test strategy, automation, performance and security testing across complex platform integrations.
You’ll act as the technical authority for API testing, embedding automation-first quality practices into CI/CD pipelines while working closely with engineers, architects and cyber security teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the enterprise API test strategy
  • Lead functional, integration, performance and security testing for APIs
  • Design and maintain automated API testing frameworks
  • Embed automated testing into CI/CD pipelines with meaningful quality gates
  • Drive API performance, load and resilience testing
  • Partner with engineering, architecture and security teams to reduce delivery risk
  • Coach teams in modern quality and test engineering practices

About you

  • Strong background in API test engineering / quality engineering (7+ years ideal)
  • Hands-on experience with API automation, CI/CD pipelines and performance testing
  • Experience in complex, distributed or regulated environments (banking preferred)
  • Comfortable operating as a technical authority and trusted advisor
