About the client:
This Queensland-based government body is responsible for overseeing workplace relations, safety, and industrial laws across the state. It develops and enforces regulations that protect workers’ rights, promote fair employment practices, and ensure safe working conditions. The organisation also provides guidance to employers and employees on compliance, investigates workplace incidents, and supports dispute resolution within industries.
About the role:
- Independently managing an allocated caseload of insurer referrals including but not limited to:
- managing the referral from receipt to outcome ensuring legislative requirements are being met;
- triaging referrals and confirming that all the mandatory and relevant materials are available in accordance with relevant guidelines;
- overseeing administration activities involved in the tribunal process;
- conducting a quality review of typed tribunal findings to ensure robust decision-making processes;
- accurately recording and maintaining tribunal files in the electronic case management systems; and
- identifying risks and coordinating security arrangements with the leadership team, where required.
- Liaise with workers, their representatives, insurers and tribunal doctors in relation to the tribunal process specifically being able to explain relevant workers’ compensation legislation.
- Undertaking a range of other administrative tasks (as required) including:
- chaperone of workers during medical examinations
- being responsible for and attending the tribunal reception area
- delivering efficient financial and travel processing activities

What you’ll need to succeed?:
- Practical experience in interpreting and applying workers’ compensation or similar legislation;
- Experience in customer service and complaints management;
- Experience in managing caseloads in a process driven environment;
- High level of communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise and negotiate while maintaining effective working relationships;
- Practical experience in word processing, data entry or electronic file management in a paperless office; and
- Ability to prioritise, manage time frames and multi-task to meet deadlines.
- Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Criminal History Check.
