About the Organisation
This ASX-listed organisation (5,000+ employees) is entering an exciting phase of transformation, evolving from a historically decentralised structure into a more connected, enterprise-led model. With multiple business units built through acquisition and growth, they are now investing in a AI Manager to drive AI and automation capability to unlock value at scale across the company, working in a team and supporting the GM. This newly created role sits at the centre of that evolution – shaping how AI drives commercial outcomes across the business.

The Role

Reporting into the General Manager, Group Data & AI, this is a leadership role responsible for translating AI strategy into measurable business outcomes. Operating within a hub-and-spoke model, you will work alongside the GM to lead the development of a “Group” AI capability, partnering closely with business units while driving 2-3 company-wide initiatives and reporting on ROI to executives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Work with the GM to drive and create the Group AI 3-year roadmap, prioritising initiatives aligned to strategic transformation goals
  • Identify high-value opportunities and develop robust business cases with clear ROI
  • Engage senior stakeholders to understand business challenges and translate them into AI-driven solutions
  • Drive transformation initiatives, embedding AI into operations – work alongside technical PM’s and leads in the business units
  • Establish and track KPIs and value realisation metrics across programs
  • Provide executive-level reporting on progress, risks and commercial outcomes
  • Lead cross-functional discovery workshops and coordinate delivery across internal teams and external partners
  • Act as the AI evangelist, driving adoption, capability uplift and organisational change
  • Build and grow a small, high-performing team (initially 0-2 reports, and scaling over time)

This role is highly strategic (~80%) with a strong focus on stakeholder engagement, transformation and value delivery. You’ll be supported by technologists in the business.

  • A natural change agent – curious, forward-thinking and commercially pragmatic
  • Experience working in complex, multi-business unit environments
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value
