An exciting opportunity exists for an AI Governance & Assurance Specialist to join a growing team responsible for ensuring the safe, ethical and compliant adoption of AI technologies across a large and complex organisation.

This is an ideal role for someone with experience in AI governance, technology risk, privacy, cyber assurance, data governance or responsible AI who enjoys working with stakeholders to balance innovation with risk, compliance and community expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct AI assurance assessments and risk reviews across the project lifecycle.
  • Assess AI solutions against privacy, legal, ethical, security and governance requirements.
  • Support Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), risk assessments and governance activities.
  • Prepare clear recommendations, risk ratings and assurance advice for stakeholders and governance forums.
  • Review vendor solutions, proposals and contracts to ensure appropriate AI controls are in place.
  • Conduct supplier due diligence across areas such as data handling, model behaviour, safety testing, data residency, IP rights, auditability and incident management.
  • Support the development of AI governance frameworks, standards, guidance and training materials.
  • Monitor emerging AI technologies, risks and regulatory developments.

About You

You may come from a background in:

  • AI Governance or Responsible AI
  • Technology or Digital Risk
  • Privacy and Data Governance
  • Cyber Security Governance
  • ICT Risk and Assurance
  • Enterprise Risk and Compliance

To be successful, you will bring:

  • Experience assessing AI-enabled solutions, emerging technologies or digital products.
  • Strong understanding of AI, Generative AI and AI risk management principles.
  • Experience conducting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), assurance reviews or risk assessments.
  • Knowledge of privacy, legal and policy obligations relevant to AI.
  • Ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and provide clear, practical advice.
  • Strong written communication and stakeholder management skills.

Highly Desirable

Candidates with experience in Vendor management, supplier assurance, procurement, Contract review or Contract negotiation will be highly regarded.

Experience reviewing technology or AI vendor contracts and assessing supplier compliance with privacy, security and governance requirements will be a significant advantage.
